Online Meal Prepayment System LINQ CONNECT Available Now!
Picayune School District Food Services Department is utilizing a new online payment system,
LINQ Connect to allow you to make deposits into your student school meal accounts. LINQ CONNECT serves two facets--the ability to make online payments for school meals and the ability to view student transaction histories. You must create a new account in LINQ CONNECT and add your student to the account. For more info, go to the Departments Tab-Food services.
Methods of Payment
After creating an account on LINQ Connect, use this Titan link below that to load money on your child's account. (We no longer use My School Bucks)
ADVANCE PAYMENTS – Rather than paying each day, payment in advance is strongly encouraged for the
following reasons: it speeds up the serving process, helps avoid the loss of cash and it serves as a receipt of the payment when checks or online payment system. As with our prior vendor, there is a small transaction fee when using LINQ Connect (https://linqconnect.com/main). LINQ Connect accepts
debt cards, credit cards or e-check.
DAILY PAYMENTS – Students may pay upon service at the cashier station when they eat in the cafeteria.
The payment can be made with cash or check. If the payment method is in check form, the check must be written for the exact amount of the purchase or any additional money will be posted to the student’s account. No return cash will be given from a check.
Student Free & Reduced Meal Applications Are Required Each School Year Online applications for free and reduced meals will be available on July 1, 2024 at https://linqconnect.com/public/meal-application/new?identifier=5ZL74K.
Completing applications online will help speed up the processing of your application. Please include your email address. Once an application is received and processed by our office, a letter of determination will be sent to you. If you do not receive the notification letter after 10 school days from submission, it may be possible the application was not received at the Child Nutrition office. In this case, please call our office at 601-798-6711.
Submit only one application per household, listing all students. If your financial status, household size or income changes during the school year we encourage you to reapply.
Meal Menus
The cafeteria serves a nutritious breakfast and lunch daily. Payment is due upon service or pre-paid on
account. Student meal prices are as follows:
Regular Rate
Breakfast: $1.75
Lunch: $3.25
Reduced Eligibility Rate
Breakfast: $0.30
Lunch: $0.40
Adult/Teacher Meal Prices for 2024-2025 School Year: Breakfast: $2.50 Lunch: $4.75
Charging of School Meals
Charging of school meals by students is not allowed. In the event a student loses or forgets his/her breakfast/lunch money, a meal accommodation will be made for that day. This policy is in place as an emergency measure and is not for routine use. The National School Breakfast and Lunch programs are
federally funded and charging of school meals is not allowed. The USDA Federal Management Circular 796-1 ( Rev.2) lists bad debts as a non-allowable expenditure of federal funds. Accordingly, the losses on charged meals cannot be paid with Child Nutrition funds. Any student who owes the cafeteria money will not be allowed to purchase extra sale items until the
balance is cleared.
